Fitting a through hull transducer

Please have a look at the pictures showing how I recently fitted a through hull transducer near to perfectly lateral

This is how the thickness was measured. I measured after sanding the inside down. Result 20mm.

Here it should be clearly visible, that the base of the transducer is partly under hull surface and party above. Since the same is true on the innerside, I expect this to cause no problems. Noe of the lower surfaces protrude the hull.

The mold parts after use. The pipe was cut and taped to have the rigth size, and therefor it was easy to remove.

I was thinking a near to perfect lateral installation would be safer, in a heavy weather situation wit a lot of heeling.
